Trade Samplers
SGS uses proven designs for mechanical sampling equipment. We provide you with a unique solution to your specific bulk cargo handling needs.

Our mechanical sampling systems (MSS) are well-engineered, cost-effective, low maintenance and comply with all relevant sampling standards. Contact us for full details, specifications and options for our complete line of MSS equipment including:
Cross Belt Sampler
- Suitable for installation on most conveyors
- Minimum disturbance of conveyed material
- Belt swept clean of fine material
- Suitable for a wide range of particle sizes and conveyor capacities
- Constant cutter velocity while passing through material stream
- Minimizes spillage
Oscillating Chute Sampler
- Adjustable sampling frequency for intermittent operation
- May be designed for a wide range of particle sizes
- May be installed at the head end of a belt feeder, in a vertical section of chute or immediately below a suitable crusher
Cross Bucket Sampler
- May be installed at the head end of a conveyor with insufficient height for a chute-type sampler
- May be designed to transfer samples horizontally for some distance
- Suitable for abrasive materials and time or mass-based sampling
- May be designed for a wide range of particle sizes
- Suitable for most head chutes that include a deflector plate
Swing Arm Sampler
- Suitable for high capacity conveyors and applications with restricted height
- Suitable for sticky materials
- Reduced installation time and no need for modifications of existing head chute
- Suitable for time or mass based sampling
- Constant cutter velocity during sampling
Pivoting Reverse Spoon Sampler
- May be installed at the head end of a conveyor
- Well suited for abrasive or sticky materials and time or mass-based sampling
- Ideal for chutes that include a deflector plate and high capacity conveyors and large increment masses
- May be designed for a wide range of particle sizes
Linear Diverter Chute Sampler
- May be installed at the head-end of a conveyor or in a suitable vertical section of chute
- Well suited for abrasive and sticky materials
- Suitable for time or mass based sampling
- May be designed for a wide range of particle sizes
- Suitable for most head chutes that include a deflector plate
Cross Belt Secondary/Tertiary Sampler
- Suitable for secondary, tertiary and physical sampling
- Minimum disturbance of conveyed material
- Belt swept clean of fine material due to scrapers and contoured belt
- Suitable for a range of particle sizes up to 75 mm
- Constant cutter velocity while passing through the material stream
Slotted Belt Sampler
- Sample cutter and rejects transfer on conveyor in one unit
- Sample increments report directly to the storage canister
- Minimum air circulation around the sample canister
- Cutter lips kept clear by rotary cleaning brush
- Indexing rotary sample collector may be built into the sampler thus avoiding blockage of transfer chutes
Vezin Rotary Sampler
- May be installed in a suitable vertical section of chute or pipe
- Un-sampled material (rejects) pass vertically through the sampler
- Risk of blockages minimized
- Fully enclosed thus preventing sample loss or contamination
Rotary Sample Collector
- Sample integrity ensured by fully enclosed body
- Automatic canister indexing function
- Heavy duty plastic, stainless steel or galvanized steel sample canisters available
- Designed for 4 to 12 canisters with 20 to 200 liter capacity
- Operator safety ensured by door safety interlock on sample canister access door
- Canisters positively located on a turntable
