SGS at Launch of New Testing Laboratory in Kazakhstan by President Kassym Jomart Tokayev
On November 8, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, launched the modern gas chemical complex of Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc (KPI) LLP in the Atyrau region. The complex has a production capacity of 500,000 tons of polypropylene per year.
Arjan Praat, Vice President of Analytical Services for Oil, Gas and Chemistry, attended the opening ceremony on behalf of SGS. Arian Praat and the head of state discussed the work of the SGS testing laboratory at the new production facility and our experience with similar projects in other countries of the world.
The presence of this independent laboratory, managed by a recognized leader in the field of testing, inspection and certification, will help Kazakh manufacturers reduce the time needed for products to enter international markets and keep product quality and safety under control.
SGS will be testing company’s products right on the site. This will help with the promotion of products abroad, as we have an impeccable reputation, with more than 140 years of work in this field. The SGS certificate allows buyers anywhere in the world to be confident in the quality of their purchased goods.
Currently, more than 70 Kazakh employees work at SGS’s laboratory at the KPI facility. In addition to certifying finished products and testing during the technological process, we also plan to carry out scientific and research activities based at the laboratory.
