The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 a global pandemic on March 11, 2020, causing a huge negative impact on businesses and communities and as such, demanding adaptation to new reality and respective response from business life perspective.

As the world’s leading inspection, certification, testing and verification  company, SGS has introduced a new services to support  business and enhance safety and protection of people targeted to minimize infection spread and promote healthy environment. This service mainly targeted for hospitality business. The mentioned new service is « Disinfection Mark » – Evaluation the efficacy of cleaning and disinfection procedures at place. SGS services ensure strict standards of cleanliness are met in order to mitigate the impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic.
Radisson Hotel Group announced its Safety Protocol comprising of 20 stages as global commitment to cleanliness and hygiene in partnership with SGS. This 20 stage reference, outlines step by step measures and tools, used to check and validate safety standards in regards to safety, hygiene and cleanliness of facilities which is easily adaptable to the local requirements and practices.The basis of this initiative is Radisson’s highest priority to protect health, safety and security of the guests, team members and business partners.

In August 2020 SGS Georgia conducted the  « SGS Disinfection Mark Audit» for Raddison Blue Tbilisi and Radisson Blue Batumi. Provided services were:
  • Cleaning & Disinfection Management and Supervision Verification & Validation through Environmental Clearance Sampling & On-Site Testing, including document and procedures revision and assessment for cleaning and disinfection plans in order to comply with international standards, specifically tailored on client’s site Validation of suitable cleaning agents, as well as,procedures according to the latest approved registered product lists and operation. 
Radisson Blue Batumi passed the both stages of mentioned Disinfection Mark inspection / audit and received respective marking and certificate valid for one year. SGS certificate allows Radisson Blue Batumi to operate successfully while ensuring highest safety and protection standards for guests and workers in regards to clean environment and hygiene. This event was a subject to local TV broadcast, which ensures even more awareness and social involvement of SGS as an Organization. 

Withing the scope of new services to support mitigation of COVID-19 Pandemic and to increase awareness of required support services, SGS Georgia received marketing materials from SGS Spain, which was distributed to Shopping Malls and various international organizations operating in Georgia.
